About UsThe FIN is a network of business, civic, academic, and community organizations that are involved in regional and community indicators work throughout Florida. It was initiated in 2004 by the Center for Urban and Environmental Solutions (CUES), includes representatives from South Florida, Central Florida, Tampa Bay, Southwest Florida, Northeast Florida, and Northwest Florida, along with state agencies such as the Florida Department of Transportation and the Florida Chamber Foundation, and continues to expand its reach. Four member organizations have already published a series of indicators reports. Our MissionThe purpose of the network is to facilitate communication and mutual learning, to help integrate the efforts of member organizations where it would be beneficial, and to work with state agencies on standardized data reporting that will enable common, comparable indicators reporting across regions. The network hopes to enhance the efficacy of indicators practitioners in measuring, illustrating, and improving sustainability and quality of life in Florida. It also seeks to communicate to others the value of indicators, and to promote the development and use of economic, environmental, and social indicators to inform public policy and practices.
